Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor

JGM’s role on the Crenshaw Rail Transit Project was to provide resident engineers and office field engineers. Our dedicated Resident Engineers provided direct assistance to the construction managers and were responsible for system integration and tunnel connection, as well as providing management and administrative services on the yards and shops. The field office engineering staff was responsible for all engineering services related to the implementation of the yards and shops, and other related activities.

The engineers assigned to this effort were trained on the JGM safety program, as well as the Metro and General contractor’s safety programs.

The Crenshaw/LAX line serves the Crenshaw Corridor, Inglewood, Westchester and Los Angeles Inter-national Airport (LAX) areas. It offers an alternative transportation option to congested roadways and provides significant environmental benefits, economic development, and employment opportunities. The Crenshaw/LAX project is one of 12 transit projects funded by Measure R, the half-cent sales tax approved by Los Angeles County voters in 2008. The official names of the eight new stations within the 8.5-mile Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor are Expo/Crenshaw, Crenshaw/Martin Luther King, Crenshaw/Vernon (Leimert Park), Crenshaw/Slauson, Florence/West, Florence/La Brea, Florence/Hindry and Aviation/Century.
