Endowing Compton Community College with a comprehensive development tool for realignment of its campus, JGM created an initial master plan. The primary purpose is identification and analysis of issues impacting the institution. This approach offers a mechanism by which internal and external factors are synthesized into viable educational and institutional objectives and measurable outcomes. The planned implementation strategy allows for an incremental expansion following a master plan, without limiting future development alternatives. This “Blueprint for Success” was incorporated throughout a five-year capital construction period.
Obsolete lecture and laboratory buildings were designated for demolition and replacement with a series of two-story buildings along what is presently the rear spine of the campus and the main entrance to aligned with the resulting main campus axes. New facilities included a Vocational Technology Center, Mathematics & Science Building, Learning Resources Center and a Performing Arts Center.
