About this Project

The construction of this city edifice, near the historic Oakland City Hall, marks an important milestone in the revitalization of the CBD. The site, bound by Jefferson, Clay, Fifteenth and Sixteenth Streets is also in close proximity to the Federal Office Complex. A complete program was developed through focus group interviews with each agency, for deciding which agencies would be moved into the building, and for space stacking and blocking. Alternative program solutions were explored as were interior finishes, furniture layout recommendations (based upon State Workstation Standards and existing inventories) and associated cost estimates. Complete coordination services were also provided, from Schematic Design,Interior Design, Tenant Improvement work (including telecommunications, acoustical and audio/visual, food services and lighting consultants), Auto CAD-based Construction Documentation to onsite Construction Administration.
