About this Project

JGM staff provided construction administration and design services throughout a variety of phases for the modernization and upgrade of Terminal 2 and the new construction of Terminal 3 as a subcontractor to Gensler. Major work included demolition, DWP power relocation, and readying the terminals for connectivity with the Automated People Mover System.

This project focused on a long-term renovation of Terminals 2 and 3 at LAX for Delta Airlines. The central headhouse was demolished and replaced with a new 4 level structure to accommodate an enlarged bag claim on level 1, a new ticketing hall on level 2, a consolidated security screening checkpoint on level 3, and a new Delta Sky Club on level 4. Two new vertical transportation cores we also incorporated into the project with bridges with access from the terminal to the new Automated People Mover station. Most all of Terminal 3 was demolished and re-built except for the 1960 original satellite which was enlarged and rehabilitated.

JGM supported Gensler with design and construction administration services across a variety of roles. The firm provided a designer who focused on designing check-in counters and a variety of lounges, while a project manager helped expedite project progress.
