About this Project

The Los Angeles Metro Line subway is widely recognized as being among the largest, most complex and challenging construction projects in the United States. Daily construction management involved coordinating the efforts of hundreds of companies in Los Angeles, across the nation and around the world.
JGM supported the development of the transit stations and 17.4 miles of subterranean corridors of the Metro Red Line Project as a member of the Engineering Management Consultant (EMC) team. The joint-venture effort was part of a long range plan for a comprehensive mass transit system for the Los Angeles region.
This endeavor included site inspection, route alignments, station, and maintenance faculty improvements, construction inspection, quality assurance services, project and contractors compliance reports and value engineering. The construction of twin-section tunnels, selection of cut-and-cover construction techniques for all stations and the underpinning of several important structures in the Central Business District were activities vital to the effort.
